This Cookies Policy refers to the website (hereinafter “website”) and it has to be considered as an integral part of the Website Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small text files that the sites visited by the user send and record on his computer or mobile device, in order to be re-transmitted to the same sites at the subsequent visit.

Thanks to cookies, a site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as login data, the chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be re-indicated when the user returns to visit the mentioned site or browse from one page to another.

Cookies, therefore, are used to perform computer authentication, monitoring sessions and storing information regarding the activities of users accessing a site and may also contain a unique identification code that allows you to track the user’s browsing inside of the site itself for statistical or advertising purposes.

During browsing on a site, the user can also receive on his computer or mobile device website or web server cookies other than the one he / she is visiting (c.d. “third party” cookies).

Some operations could not be performed without the use of cookies, which in some cases are therefore technically necessary for the same functioning of the site.

There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these can remain in the user’s computer or mobile device for different periods of time

  1. So-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed
  2. So-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s equipment until a pre-established expiry date.

The user’s express consent is not always required for the use of cookies.

In particular, “technical cookies”, i.e. those used for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, do not require such consent.

In other words, these are cookies that are essential for the site to function or are necessary to perform activities requested by the user.

Among the technical cookies, which do not require an express consent for their use, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see Measure “Simplified Arrangements to Provide Information and Obtain Consent Regarding Cookies” - 8 May 2014, hereinafter only “Measure”) also includes:

  1. browsing or session cookies
  2. the “analytics cookies” where used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site
  3. functional cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a set of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided

Consent is required, instead, for the following types of cookies:

  1. third-party cookies, which are installed on the user’s terminal from another site than that of the manager, through specific links
  2. profiling cookies, aimed at creating user profiles and used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown by the user in the context of web browsing. With regards to this point, the user can check and adjust his behavioral advertising preferences via the Youronlinechoices website.

Browsing or Session Cookies

The use of browsing / session cookies - which are not permanently stored on the user’s computer and are removed when the browser is closed - is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow a safe and efficient site exploration.

In particular, the IT systems and software procedures used to operate the Human Technopole Foundation website acquire, during their normal operation, some data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.

This information is not collected in order to be associated with identified data subjects, but by their very nature they could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified.

Analytics Cookies

The use of analytics cookies is carried out for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the site (i.e. the number of visitors to the site, the origin of site visitors or the operating system used) and to check its correct functioning.

This category of data includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users connecting to the site, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numeric code indicating the status of the response given by the server (success, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the operating system and the user’s IT environment.

Functional Cookies

The use of functional cookies on the website takes place exclusively to allow the user to browse according to the language chosen (Italian or English).

Third-parties Cookies

Fondazione Human Technopole’s website uses cookies from the following third parties:

In particular, cookies from are used in order to allow the presence of videos from the aforementioned site, while cookies from are used for browsing statistics and for viewing maps (Google Analytics).

Most of the browsers are set to automatically accept cookies.
